    you have 4GB memery. i think 274MB is normal and acceptale.

    I looked on my system monitor and I saw the memory consumption for some  files:

    trayicon.py = 55 MiB
    Xorg = 47 MiB
    tray_bluetooth_service.py = 42 MiB
    desktop = 34 MiB
    dock = 25 MiB
    dsc-daemon = 21 MiB
    launcher = 20 MiB
    compiz = 17 MiB
    gnome-system-monitor = 13 MiB

    => 274 MiB  !!!
