hi, the doc is in Chinese language and I can't read it of course.

I need to install the proprietary Nvidia driver instead of nouveau.
how to do it pls?
I have Lenovo IdeaPad S500 where is Intel HD and nVidia GT 720.
Will it work? Optimus support etc..?

You could try:

sudo apt-get install nvidia-current

I think this might work for you.

Or you can open deepin software center, and search nvidia. It can also find it.

is it ok?

anyway, where can I disable actions of mousing over corners? During playing the game minimizes because of that.. idk how to solve this.

I would also like to add that unless you have a older nvidia video card, doing "apt-get install nvidia-current" will only install the 304.xxx legacy drivers. Becareful...

I did what abcfy2 said and then rebooted with no problems. Make sure that you choose the option "nvidia-XXX" as this will install all other neccessary software.

Yes it does. When I tried using apt-get in the terminal, I read the readout and noticed it going to install the legacy drivers. Always good to read before agreeing to execute.

Actually executing the "nvidia-current" shouldn't doe this. It should install the drivers for newer nvidia cards. Why this happened I'm not sure but I am sure thats what I read.

Execute:

sudo apt-cache search nvidia

Copy the Code

It'll list all the drivers plus other additional packages.
Latest drivers available on this repository is "nvidia-331"(any of them).

Here is my post about some bugs that I found, I have fixed 2 relating nvidia drivers.

Thank you Shinmaru. Rc1 seems stable enough to run wth some minor bugs.
Deepin 2014 is by far the best and will only get better. Great job!

I installed nvidia 310-updates and it crashed the Control Center. I reported this as an important bug but it still remains.

what about the corners? I'd need to disable it for the time while playing.

You have a strong English accent, but from what I understood, You are saying that bumblebee gets deactivated as soon as you start DOTA2?

which logs? in /var/logs I can't find any bumblebee log file.

I've never played DOTA, but if we are talking about error logs for non core programs then this one should be under a .dota or .steam folder on your home folder.

About the strong accent it's because, I assume, English is not your native language.
Anyways, try finding those folders.

in nVidia-settings there is no option to switch between Intel & nVidia.. don't know why.

Here we go again, I've been searching around and it may(or not) be a bug of DOTA(dev) but I have found better ways to test it, here is a link to test the game, also try to reinstall the game(incase of currupted files, it should be explained in the link.), read about the -autoconfg and -safe-mode sections of the post.

This similar problem has occurred before(around Nov. 2013) with many users confirming it on many numerous OSes and HW configurations.

Let's hope there is an update.

PS. Yeah, I speak at native level, this is due to English being my first language and being taught by my parents. I'm from Puerto Rico(US colonized Country)
