How soon does Deepin usually receive a new version of Google Chrome?

Google Chrome 36 was released yesterday and it hasn’t shown up yet.

I have a machine that has Ubuntu 14.04 and it received the Google Chrome 36 update very quickly after it was released yesterday.

If anyone is interested you can do the following to get the new version right away in Deepin 2014...

Run the following command in terminal to install the Google Linux Package Signing Key...
  1. wget -q -O - https://dl-ssl.google.com/linux/linux_signing_key.pub | sudo apt-key add -
Copy the Code
After installing the Key, run the command below to add Google Chrome to the repository.
  1. sudo sh -c 'echo "deb http://dl.google.com/linux/chrome/deb/ stable main" >> /etc/apt/sources.list.d/google.list'
Copy the Code

Still no update to Google Chrome 36?

I have a Testing version of Deepin 2014 in VirtualBox that I did not manually add the Google Chrome repository and it is still not getting the version 36 update.

Considering that there are 26 security fixes I would think this would have been updated right away.

Here is the release info...

We change the update frequency, it's once two weeks, so please wait for a short time for Google Chrome 36.

Updates only once every two weeks???

Considering that a large portion of the updates are to fix bugs in the software or to patch security issues two weeks is a long time to wait.

Especially updates that are security related because our systems would be potentially vulnerable for up to two weeks.

The Google Chrome browser is an easy fix by adding the Google PPA to receive updates but it does concern me about receiving security updates for other software and the Deepin OS itself.
