On two occasions I have tried to install CompizConfig-Settings-manager but it kills the desk, having to reinstall again.
The screen goes black and nothing responds.

compiz --replace
Copy the Code
ctrl+alt+F1 enter into TTY, then input your account and password (not shown), enter to log in.
Please execute the above command to solve your problem.
