I would not trust steam on linux I use it on windows a lot but games for windows are working since Windows 95. We have so many game studios out thair working on windows games sice years and there is a great support by hardware vendors as well so your question should be Is any hardware vendor willing to put enough money in linux based development to push gaming on linux?
I bet you know the answer ?
In Short. If you have time and you are willing to figure out where bugs are coming from steam is worth it. if niot just go out and buy a mac inf you like linux really much.
Just because a distribution platform is working on a new os it is not said their are good software companies out there to put good games and a critical mass of games to linux.

The initial installation tip is simple, but user Shrapnel points out occasional issues like games stalling. Horvan brings up a valid concern about Linux's historically limited gaming support compared to Windows, though it’s worth noting that Steam's Proton has improved compatibility over time, allowing many Windows games to run. JLey, not particularly invested in gaming, prefers to move on when issues arise, which is understandable. Overall, while there are still bugs, Steam on Linux is becoming more viable, especially for dedicated users who are willing to troubleshoot.
