    --Begin ramble --
    First I want to say, I am part of a phalanthropy committee at work where I take the life cycled desktops and install linux and give the machines to the under priviledged. I have been puting Deepin on approximately 30% of these computers.

    During this process my wife saw Deepin and thought it was really neat, so she has converted.

    I have been working with the Deepin desktop on Arch Linux and I have to say it is quiet appealing even for me as a sysadmin/power user. My main desktop is always gnome, and so I got used to some of the functionality I find myself missing. Particularly the ability to snap windows to the sides of the screen with keyboard shortcuts. I know that you can drag the applications around to achieve the same affect but I rarely take my hands off the keyboard

    Is there a way to emulate the following:

    Maximize/Full screen
    Snap to left side
    Snap to right side
    Send an application to a different monitor (I have 5)

    Hi,

    if you go to control center->keyboard shortcuts, you can see list of shortcuts related to windows and workspace.

    i hope you install deepin on more machines, the operation system if great and very east to use. Im sure if they had to pick they would pick deepin. Thanks

    Hi! I have just installed Deppin 15.1.1 and I'm also would like to have the function of snap windows to half of the screen to the left or to the right. Unfortunately the keys shortcuts you suggest are not working. Do you know how to create a custom shortcut for that?

    Hi, Welcome to the Deepin Forum. You have replied to a post that is over a year old that pertained to the Deepin 2014 version that used Compiz manager. Deepin 15.1.1 uses a windows manager based on Gala now and does not have the special effects that Compiz does.

    Your welcome, If you do use the Multitasking view and move items with mouse to different workspace, you can latter switch to different workspace with Super + right key or left But its not the same as what your were asking.

    Some users have used the gnome-tweak tool for a partial dark theme but thats not really what this post was about. The roots of Deepin come from gnome but not all things are compatiable especially with this years edition with a Gala based windows manager using html and some qt.
