How do I do this?  I'm puzzled.  I need to create a document in a folder that's not modifiable in the regular file manager.  Thanks.

What a pain!  It seems to me you should be able to open a root-level file manager, like nautilus (it won't open as root from terminal).  Having to use command line operations to do some simple stuff doesn't make sense.

Thanks.

If I could just figure out what app is being run for the file manager, I could likely open it as root from terminal and get what I want.  Right-clicking on the icon doesn't help -- other desktops display the command line associated with the icon.  Deepin doesn't do that -- very strange.

Can someone just tell me what the name of the file manager?  Thanks.

Tried that first.  Got this output in terminal:

Any idea why this isn't working?  Thanks again.

Same issue here and it is very annoying! I want to copy wallpapers to the wallpaper folder but it will not allow me to! If we are admin we should be allowed to do any changes as well as open as root.

Just a quick update: I installed PCmanFM and then ran it as gksudo pcmanfm at the terminal and was able to do the things I needed but they need to fix this so it works with the default file manager, nautilus and not require users to find a work-around.

Any place. I tried /var /usr. I opened it as administrator, but I failed to create a new folder inside them.

Sorry that I cannot do the screenshot. Ctrl + Alt + A doesn't work for me when I tried to open the file as root.

Ps: I tired su in the terminal, The message was "su: Authentication failure".
I also tried" sudo nautilus", the message was

We are not sure the reason why "sudo nautilus" does not work, but you can try the command "mkdir" to solve the problem. Concerning the command "mkdir", you can search the usage on the Internet.

Plus, we don't know why you create a folder in /var /usr , as you know,  it is not the normal operation actually.

perhaps some dependence what's inside the package, but it is better to install it completely
