Hi, I'm totally new to linux and I can't wrap my head around the installation procedure for Redshift. I've read the instructions and googled possible tutorials and I just don't get it. Could someone help me by pointing me to the right sources or tell me how to do the install?

I downloaded redshift from: https://github.com/jonls/redshift/releases
the file is packed as tar.xz; I extracted it and tried installing through terminal with make, but I'm doing something wrong.

Furthermore, will deepin ever support package installers like synaptic? I like the look of deepin so I wouldn't want to change to another version of linux if possible.

I use the Synaptic in Deepin 15.1  to install just type in terminal sudo apt-get install synaptic
Then you will see that redshift is in the repositories. I have not used redshift.

Huh, I figured synaptic wasn't avaliable since it didn't show in the deepin store. Your solutions are pretty straightforward and I feel stupid for not finding them..
Either way, thanks friend!
