Hi ppl,

I installed slack through .deb (https://slack.com/downloads). But after explaining my team, I still freeze the above:

I'm on Deepin 15.1.1 and I've tried a sudo apt-get -f install.

Someone have the same issue ?

I have a debian unstable in the same computer. No problems. No problems in deepin 15.1 ISO too.

Same issue, but freeze directly in this page :

You mentioned it was working for you before. You could try launching from terminal and check terminal output

Just this at launch:

  1. Creating Slack Application
  2. (electron) submitUrl is deprecated. Use submitURL instead.
  3. (electron) ipc module is deprecated. Use require("electron").ipcMain instead.
  4. [Error: Failed to get path]
  5. (electron) loadUrl is deprecated. Use loadURL instead.
Copy the Code

Nothing more after explaining team name.

I would check to see if you get those errors on your Debian system. And if not try to figure out what those errors are saying

  1. sudo slack
Copy the Code

Works well.
But launch application from terminal, in sudo mode, isn't a great solution.

Ok, I will check.
For informations, I have the same output in sudo mode.

If the application works in sudo mode that is giving you a clue of the problem.

I deleted ~/.config/Slack/* and restarted the application from the launcher. Since the problem seems fix.

  1. rm -rf ~/.config/Slack/*
Copy the Code

Thanks you very much. Have a nice day.
