I have been having some fairly odd glitches recently. After an hour or two of uptime all the icons on my desktop will form "frozen" copies on the desktop. These "copies" are unclickable and behave as part of the desktop background and appear slightly larger than the original icons and dissapear on reboot, I have also noticed that the launcher and dock lag significantly more during startup and take at least twenty seconds to appear.

Did you changed the Desktop icons settings using gnome-tweak-tool? Did you activate them? Gnome desktop icons should be deactivated, they aren't the same as Deepin Desktop icons.

If this is  really case, then you can solve this with one line in terminal:

  1. gsettings set org.gnome.desktop.background show-desktop-icons false
Copy the Code

It just happened again while I was trying to re-install steam, and sorry about the accidental double reply.

Hi, I also had trouble with one of my systems that did not take the 15.1.1 update well. The standard Deepin icons on my desktop stayed permanently frozen and unclickable as part of the desktop background and dock lag. I was able to reinstall key components of the DDE and have not experienced the problem again.
Your problem seems different, you mention after a hour or two of uptime and disappear on reboot. and trouble with Steam. When ever posting a issue on Deepin forum try to provide relevant information like Deepin version, proprietary drivers etc, and screenshots of your desktop including your dock.

Hey, just letting you know I no longer have those issues with the deepin desktop environment, I decided to install arch Linux and add the deepin desktop and the software that deepin is packaged with, everything works great, and I assume since DDE is working on arch the problem on Deepin OS is probably fixed as well, thanks for all your help! <3
