Hi there, Is there any way to change the applets (shutdown, clock, systray) dock icons? When changing system icons those remain the same tacky style not matching the theme.
eventually is there anyway to unlock those applets icons from the dock?
Overall I'm very happy with deepin 15.1 but would like a bit of customization available

Many tks

cheers

Hi, welcome to the Deepin Forum. The only way I know of on the 3 that you mentioned is to right click the dock and change to the Efficient mode or the Classic mode.

Keep in mind when your in the fashion mode the system tray changes as you populate with open applications, so it is actually a plugin to the dde-dock rather than a fixed icon. As far as I know the customizable icons are located in /usr/share/icons/deepin. Hopefully they are working on additional theming and customization. But personally I appreciate more the fact that they are developing there own unique desktop enviorment and applications with more planned on the horizon.
Unless other members here can better answer your question I would use Deepin User Feedback in your applications to suggest your idea or get more information.

Try /usr/share/themes/deepin and /usr/share/icons/deepin.

Try /usr/share/themes/deepin and /usr/share/icons/deepin.

Tks but no, they are not there, even if I try to search on the whole systems can't see them anywhere. Guess will be comopressed in an executable file on the pluggin/applet itself so no chance to change or remove them unless remove the pluggin..but thats not the idea

I agree with tristar, but what he said was applicable to systems other than deepin. for deepin it is very confusing and hard to change themes, some works but some doesn't. I would like to suggest you modifying /usr/share/desktop or sth(I stopped using Linux for quite a long time). and edit files there. For example, I have a file named gedit.desktop, open it using and text editor and change the address for the icon, you can use icons from icon packages you have downloaded.

That is a tool to report good ideas or problems. And normally will reply when they are able if you provide email.

I dont think the developer will reply me if i'm just intending to modify something they have intentionally make unmanageable

The code is fully open source and can be found on github. I don't know why themes change the trash icon but not the network or power icon. I suspect it's more complicated then just finding a compressed file.
