Sorry if this has already been covered or in the wrong place.  DVD Playback as many of you know does not work, does anybody have an update on when this might be addressed please or a way to make it work.

Many thanks for your time

Loving Deepin, so easy and friendly to use.

If you're using Deeping 15.2 based on Debian (Unstable):
Check here:
https://wiki.debian.org/MultimediaCodecs

And here:
https://wiki.debian.org/CDDVD#DVD

Hopefully this will help you ;)

So with the correct codecs installed has anyone managed to get it working ?  I read last night from an official Deepin representative in a forum somewhere that DVD playback does not work but is going to be addressed in a future update.

Thanks nomko - will try those codecs tonight and let you know how it goes

You're welcome!

You didn't informed us which mediaplayer you're using. I know that Vlc doesn't need any "external" mediacodecs since Vlc can handle almost all type of media. Did you tried Vlc or do you have the same issue with Vlc?

Heres the fix. " sudo apt-get install libdvd-pkg"  once that's finished run "sudo dpkg-reconfigure libdvd-pkg"  without at the quotes in deepin terminal.  Works with VLC,  open disc and select DVD at the top and disc device=/dev/sr0  your DvD should play.    It should work with any player.  Its missing the libdvdcss files.
