I have Chrome and Opera installed.  Unfortunately, Opera always asks for an update for Flash.  Chrome works fine with its Pepperflash.  I'm not sure how to proceed with this one as Opera flash works fine in Linux Mint, Ubuntu 16.04 an W10.  Any help is appreciated.  Thanks guys.

Hi, stevex again. I, too, have Opera as well as Chrome installed, and, although I have not used Opera much,  it has never asked for an update for flash. Maybe a reinstallation would be a fix. Sorry I cannot be of more help.

Maybe there should be a newer version for flash in deepin store.

The same problem also occurs with Firefox, which is annoying.  Correct me if I'm wrong, but Chrome is a 'special case', since Adobe still updates the Chrome/flash variant, all other browsers having to rely on the positively ancient 11.2 version, that has the odd security-update applied.  This includes Firefox and Opera.  With Mint 17.3 on the other hand, no such 'upgrade flash' warnings occur, suggesting that an up-to-date flash does exist, it is just damn sloowwwww in being made available with some distros.

Doesn't Chrome and Opera use its own version of flash?  Why would Adobe flash be needed?  Btw, flash works fine in Chrome.
Also, why is the Deepin Store installing Opera Developer instead of Opera Stable.  Flash in Mint works fine with Opera Stable.

I did install pepperflash non-free but it did not correct the issue.  Confused...

I really like Deepin, but Flash is a security issue that should be updated as soon as humanly possible.  Further, it doesn't explain why Flash works on Chrome but not Opera.

I have the same issue
The only solution I have found is installing opera beta.
In my 38.0.2220.12 version flash works as it should.
And now I am scared to update to newer version because not to broke flash

Then I stand corrected!  Opera was my browser of choice from version 1 to 12.15.  Then opera stopped updating it for Linux, so I switched to Firefox.  I had forgotten that Opera now uses the same webkit-engine as Chrome, so I reckon that they also use the same flash variant.

Probably I have found a way to fix flash issue.
1. download flash
2. in opera run opera:plugins and find the path for flash(for me it was         /opt/google/chrome/PepperFlash/libpepflashplayer.so)
3. replace the old one with new one (including manifest.json file)
4. restart opera

Similar to what I have done, I am currently using Yandex browser, which is said to be based on Chromium. However, it does not have flash too. So I installed pep flash and went to browser://plugins and enabled flash.
