The screen says: "installing updates 0%, please wait.  Please don't turn off or disconnect rhe computer"
I'm from Brasil, and here is the screenshot.

Hi.  I would suggest that your reboot the pc and update with the terminal:  "sudo apt-get update"  then "sudo apt-get dist-upgrade"

stevex: Hi, I have got a similar problem. My system is just checking for updates. I have just tried your suggestion, and this is the result:
Reading package lists... Done
E: Could not get lock /var/lib/apt/lists/lock - open (11: Resource temporarily unavailable)
E: Unable to lock directory /var/lib/apt/lists/

Hi. Sorry for late reply--have not been around pc. You can try this:  sudo rm /var/lib/apt/lists/lock     And if that command does not work by itself you may need to run:  sudo rm /var/cache/apt/archives/lock       Good luck.
