I've recently installed deepin 15.4 on my Dell 7559, and when I try to log in I am getting a black screen. I can't see anything on the desktop by the right click seems to be working. I can create folder, files.

The terminal shows up, but I can't type anything on it.

Here is a video of how everything is looking after loggin in: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0Bzpjp7SUL_YyU3dlcUNEMERzNWM/view?usp=sharing

I've tried reinstalling it and the same happens. When I click on CTRL + F1 a black screen appears as well.

My laptop specs:

i7 hq Skylake , video nvidia 960m 4 gb ram Dell 7559.

An help is appreciated.

Thanks

I had the same problem today.
Obviously I didn't install any Deepin update before.
Have you already tried to reboot your laptop?
That fixed it for me.
I use Arch Linux with only the Deepin Desktop so my solution needn't work for you.
I still don't know why there were this bug but now it works and I don't care about anymore.

Yes, I've rebooted it multiple times, even reinstalled the OS. The issue is that even when it's starting (on recovery) I can't enable the internet so that I can download some updates, as this might fix the issue. Strange. Not sure what to do next.

Could you please upload this three files?
/var/log/Xorg.0.log
/var/log/lightdm/lightdm.log
/var/log/journal/[SOME CODE HERE]/system.journal
I know that your network doesn't work but try using a recovery cd with internet support or an usb stick and upload then with another computer.
Probably the information in these files will help finding the issue

Hello, Problem Solved!

I was able to solve the problem by creating a new user, and then able to login, but the other user still can not log in, so I removed and saved the files and everything is working.

To create the user, enter the command screen with Ctrl + alt + F2, and then use sudo useradd "test" and fill in the remaining information. The update was successful, I hope there will be no more problems.

@nipos and the rest interested.

I've booted deepin with the other linux in the USB (mint), and it booted up correctly. Everything works. I will update this post again if I notice any other issues, if not, I will close it

@nipos I've restarted the laptop without the USB plugged in and the same issue happened. It has not started with the USB plugged in when I've tried the second time aslo.

Same issue from my first post. Maybe the uploaded files will help you identify the issue

Here is the journal file in a readable format: https://pastr.markusko.ch/show/58fb2b6002912b68c1020000
There isn't any error because of Deepin.
I see only errors with things which aren't important now such as wifi.
The other two files didn't report any error at all.
Your video shows exactly the same problem as I had but I fixed it with rebooting.
I looked again for helpful logfiles but there is only one which could help.
Please upload /var/log/journal/[SOME CODE HERE]/user-[SOME NUMBER HERE].journal
Deepin seems not to have any own logs but probably this file contains the error messages.

Sometimes I wish I could conjure but unfortunately I can't :/
I'm not sure if these "could not find qm files" errors cause your problems.
Can you open a working full screen terminal?
If yes,try these two commands and then reboot:
  1. apt-get install --reinstall dtkwidget
  2. apt-get install --reinstall dde-control-center
Copy the Code

The two errors are displayed because of these programs so they could be damaged.

Unfortunately, I can't. Not sure what to do next, the only Linux that worked was the Mint one, but I would prefer deepin, as this was my  working desktop for the last 2 years. I will download again an ISO and see if that would work.

Thanks for your time @nipos I really appreciate it

You don't need Deepin OS to use Deepin.
The Deepin Desktop Environment is available for most linux distributions.
Look here: https://www.deepin.org/en/dde/desktop-transplantation/
Mint is based on Ubuntu and Deepin is availabe for Ubuntu.
You should be able to install the Deepin Desktop on Linux Mint.
I use Deepin on Arch Linux and it works great.
The only limitation is that I don't have access to the Deepin Store but all other Deepin apps are working.
