Hello everyone, I'm here to ask if anyone could tell me how to properly install PPAPI Flash player plugin so Opera or Vivaldi can be used and not have 'Error: this media could not be played' shown, specially on Twitter. If you can help me, I'd appreciate it. So far, the steps I've been following found through the internet did not work. Is that a problem with those 2 browsers? A bunch of people have stuck with Chrome because of it right away, but I really don't want to do that. Specially since I use Opera on Windows, and I want to syncronize things (but also try out Vivaldi since it looks really good). From now, thanks a lot.
Also, this is a fresh Deepin 15.4.1 install, so none of the things I've tried before are there. Letting you know in case this might help. Thanks!

the right way to install opera is like this :

at Deepin-terminal ,use command:
sudo aptitude install opera-stable

it will install opera-stable pepperflashplugin-nonfree{a}

so you use flash to play video.

Hi tmacy, thanks for your reply. I installed Opera that way and still don't work. On Vivaldi, YouTube and Twitch work wonderful even at 60fps, but Twitter and Facebook still don't work.

sudo apt install libflashplugin-pepper this must work as this is the Chromium based flash plugin, alternatively to Opera or Vivaldi, all based on Chromium, you can use Brave, Chromium based too and with integrated ad-blocker, like Opera.

It's ok, thanks anyway. YouTube and Twitch streams work wonderful, even at source quality/HD 60 fps. No problem with that

Hey Oscar, I ran the command. It said the latest was already installed. I even ran the apt-get upgrade just in case. Only 1 thing to be upgraded. However, the issue is still there. Can't watch media on Twitter nor Facebook. YouTube and Twitch work great even at 60fps or source quality.
Is there anything else I can do?

But... Twitter and Facebook embedded players aren't flash based, they are HTML5 based, so, can you check in configurations if you have this enabled? Anyways, can you try with Brave and Chromium to see if they have the same problem? Check if Opera and Vivaldi have their "plugins" enabled also.

Hey Oscar, thanks again. Chrome always worked fine. Brave works fine too! I didn't know TW and FB were HTML5 since Twitch worked well... I thought they worked different. What do I need to check (and how do I do it) for Vivaldi and or Opera to fix it?

Hello Jingle, thanks for your response. As said by Oscar above, it wasn't a Flash problem (and pepper flash was also already installed it seems). Chrome and Brave work fine. Now I'll need to see what can I do for Vivaldi and Opera to work.

Hey Jingle, thanks again. I installed Gwen's script for Vivaldi and now everything works. You can mark it as solved / solution! Thank you.
