Why is the Deepin installer wants to format the efi partition? It should add its efi files to that partition, as the Windows and other Linux efi files are there. Also, the installer cannot install to a partition in one disk, and place the efi files in another disk. It refuses to use that efi partition.

You are correct (OP), thats why I didn't have Deepin installed until I accidentally dd'd my linux drive (so I was in a position to start fresh). Very frustrating, isn't it ?
