I'd like to be able to reinstall Deepin, but for at least the last two point releases, the installer will not allow me to mark my EFI partition and proceed in the advanced disk setup. I don't know if this has to do with having the EFI partition on different drive than the installation or not. I have read that it would succeed if I allowed it to re-format the EFI partition, but that's quite undesirable (understatement of the year) for other OSs that are installed.

Has anyone discovered a way around?

I met the same issue. Someone here told me to stop complaining and hack its live-installer myself.

Yeah, forgive me, for vain hopes that something incorrect would get corrected :) That had occured to me to look at the installation system and patch it.

Does anyone have a recommendation for a viable other OS that has a working DDE? (is this even possible)?
I tire of the futility of waitng for them to unbreak their installer.
