After reboot, you can find the application icon in the launch menu.

I have found many programs won't get their icons in the launch menu without being run first from the command line. This happens with VMware Player 7
Installing Sublime Text 3 from the command line and then running subl will launch the program. Sublime Text 3 doesn't appear in the launch menu. The dock shows the correct icon and will dock it, but it will never run the program when you click on it.
Yet Sublime Text 3 will run on the dock Plank that I run on my secondary monitor.
