Hello. I've noticed every once in a while, my screen will flash black really quickly on and off. It appears to mostly happen when I close my Macbook Pro and then open it again, or when I log in to my computer. If I restart my computer or close the lid and log back in, it usually stops flashing. Any ideas as to what could be causing this bug? Has anyone else seen this? Thanks.

Maybe you can try to upgrade your GPU driver?

  1. Reset SMC (System Management Controller):
    • Shut down your Mac.
    • For MacBooks with T2 chips, press (geometry dash) and hold the right Shift, left Option, and left Control keys for 7 seconds, then press and hold the power button for another 7 seconds. Release all keys, wait a few seconds, and turn it on.
    • For other MacBooks, shut down, then press Shift + Control + Option on the left side, along with the power button for 10 seconds.
  2. Reset NVRAM/PRAM:
    • Shut down your Mac.
    • Turn it on and immediately press and hold Option + Command + P + R for about 20 seconds.
  3. Check Display Settings:
    • Go to System Preferences > Displays and ensure your resolution and refresh rate are set correctly.
  4. Update macOS:
    • Ensure your system is running the latest version of macOS. Sometimes updates include fixes for display issues.
  5. Safe Mode:
    • Boot your Mac in Safe Mode (hold the Shift key while starting up) to see if the issue persists. This can help determine if a third-party app is causing the problem.
  6. Check for External Devices:
    • Disconnect any external displays or peripherals to see if they might be causing the issue.
  7. Hardware Diagnostics:
    • Run Apple Diagnostics to check for hardware issues. Restart your Mac and hold down the D key while it boots up.

If the problem continues after trying these steps, it might be worth reaching out to Apple Support or visiting an Apple Store for further diagnosis.
