I keep getting part way through the installation and get the "installation failed" mesage every way I try. I have secure boot off, and am using a USB 2.0 port. I've tried making the boot disk on both windows and linux with dd and every program I could find. I also tried installing from the failsafe mode but that gave me the same results.

Maybe some of the other members here have experienced that. Kind of slow so far tonight

Here is the full log file. I am currently trying to install from the latest manjaro.
I hope I can get this working, deepin looks very promising!

Before installation Windows must shut down not at sleep mode. Check if md5sum of iso is correct.
Did you try also unetbootin to write the image?
If you use a live usb of Ubuntu or Linux Mint does it run correct?

Yes, that is how I was able to get the log file. I still had the same outcome in failsafe mode.

Use A live usb of Ubuntu or Linux Mint and make a partition ext4 with gparted on which you can install Deepin on it later from advance settings.

I was finally able to successfully install by using vgremove to format my manjaro partition through Ubuntu live and then I changed the UEFI selection in BIOS to legacy only.

@sanju

Is your dell laptop an UEFI device? Than you should change the boot mode in Bios to legacy

https://bbs.deepin.org/user/42372 according to your log file the problem was he file system on your hard disk was not mountable. So you have had to format it in some way as you did. This is possible with the installer to if you change the install screen to expert mode in the upper right corner. Than you got gparted an can remove old file systems. So it seems the problem occurred because of an oled file system on the hard drive. Have fun with deepin  This is told in your log file on line 2744.
