Hello, I've migrated from Ubuntu 15.10 GNOME to Deepin 15.1 yesterday and one of the problems I'm having is that there is no sound device. The only output device shown is `Built-in Audio Digital Stereo (HDMI)` which is showing as unplugged. I had this problem with Ubuntu too but putting options snd-hda-intel model=auto in  /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf fixed the problem for audio output.

I'm using HP Probook 440 G4 which has Conexant CX20724 and Intel HD Audio. Here is the output for lspci -v

Here is the BIOS info

Okay ty for the output. I see it has up to date BIOS driver version 1.06 for Probook 440 G3  I assume its the right one you indicated in your post Probook 440 G4 ? and that both audio are enabled.
I see the Ubuntu forums with an alsa fix though the Deepin 15.1 is currently using pulse audio Its still very odd that multiple systems and kernel versions would have trouble with sound on your computer. It is not like the computer is too new for the kernel version.
I would run driver manager in your applications to see if it offers any drivers to be installed.
I am still checking the Debian forums on Conexant audio problems.

Sorry the information I see on the Debian forums is very similar to what your already know.. Maybe some of the other members here know of a fix that will work here.
In the mean time I suggest you use the Deepin User Feedback in your applications to report this problem and send screen shots or the link to this thread..

https://bbs.deepin.org/user/40166 thank you for your effort. There is no driver available for this in Driver Manager. But I've sent feedback via Deepin Feedback with link to this thread.

Thank you so much. I just had this exact issue. You saved a lot of time researching for a solution. I also reported this through Deepin Feedback so the developers can address this issue as a required dependency to be installed when skype is installed.

The basic input/output system, or BIOS, is the software that a computer's microprocessor runs when it is turned on. Additionally, it controls the flow of information between the operating system (OS) of the computer and any attached hardware, including the hard drive duck life, video adapter, keyboard, mouse, and printer.
