Hello everyone,

Recently we have optimized and adjusted the system configuration, the details are as follows:

Summary of previous situation

To prevent the /boot/ partition from being filled up with snapshot files, the system has reduced the default maximum number of snapshots from 5 to 2. This can avoid insufficient space under the 1.5GB /boot/, causing problems with updates and upgrades. Please refer to the following posts for related questions:

The system reduces the default maximum number of snapshots from 5 to 2 to ensure that the /boot/ partition has enough space for update and upgrade operations.

For users who rely on snapshots

If you rely on more snapshots for system recovery or other operations, you can still adjust the settings manually. The specific steps are as follows:

  1. Open a terminal.
  2. Use a text editor (such as nano or vim) to edit the configuration file:
    sudo nano /etc/deepin-upgrade-manager/config.json

  3. Find max_version_retentionthe parameter and change its value back to 5.
  4. Save and exit the editor.
