I want to connect to university network through VPN from home. University VPN is deployed on a windows server which uses Secured Socket Tunneling Protocol. I tried to install sstp client on deepin following guidelines for Ubuntu, but SSTP does not appear in list of VPN types. Can some one guide me how to connect to VPN using SSTP from Deepin?

Thanks Yanbowen. Not a good news, but really glad to get timely answers. It means I have to install Ubuntu or some other flavor to connect to VPN. Any how, a great experience to use Deepin.

Hello..this question is few months old .. but for anyone who had same issue .. here is a workaround ..

install sstp client as described at projekt page .. :

sudo apt-key adv --keyserver keyserver.ubuntu.com --recv-keys 61FF9694161CE595

Create the file: /etc/apt/sources.list.d/sstp-client.list, and add the following two lines:

  deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/eivnaes/network-manager-sstp/ubuntu xenial main
  deb-src http://ppa.launchpad.net/eivnaes/network-manager-sstp/ubuntu xenial main

if you get error "dirmngr not found" install the package with: sduo apt install dirmngr

then install network-manager-gnome & sstp-client with apt.

after that start "nm-applet" from terminal window you get the networkmanager in the notification field and your now able to configure a sstp vpn connection.

If you have all things configured save and leave nm-applet.

You now can see the configured vpn connection in the deepin menu
