Hi! I need a newer version of Firefox. The one in the store is 48 and I think it will never be updated there.
How do I install it?
Thank you!

Try this:
  1. https://bbs.deepin.org/post/131514#1146496&fromuid=35315
Copy the Code
It works for both Firefox and Thunderbird. Alternatively you can run firefox as root via
  1. gksudo firefox
Copy the Code
You run it as a normal user, and regularly check the About Firefox from the help menu (it will check for updates if you open it). And if there's an update, you quit Firefox and restart it from terminal with the above command, open About Firefox and let it download and install the update. After that's done you quit Firefox one again and start it as you normally do.

Thank you for trying to help.
Both options didn't work.
But I installed the Firefox from Deepin Store and the Sync option seems to work now(it didn't before) so I won't bother anymore. Thank you once again.

What did you do and what was the error message? For the first option you have to add
  1. deb http://downloads.sourceforge.net/project/ubuntuzilla/mozilla/apt all main
Copy the Code
to /etc/apt/sources.list. To do this open a terminal, type in
  1. sudo nano /etc/apt/sources.list
Copy the Code
copy the line from the above code block and paste it using Shift + Insert. After that's done press CTRL + O (it's an O not a zero), then hit return. Finally close nano with CTRL + X.Or you can use a graphical editor like Gedit. To do this, you have to install the gksu command first with
  1. sudo apt-get install gksu
Copy the Code
After that type in
  1. gksu gedit /etc/apt/sources.list
Copy the Code
After either one, you'll need to run these commands:
  1. sudo apt-get update
  2. sudo apt-get upgrade
Copy the Code

This works fine for me.
