    • How to install a printer on Deepin? (It keeps requesting me Authorization)

    Hi there guys! I'm a newbie in the Linux world. I'm starting with Deepin, so sorry if the question is dumb.

    Anyway, I would like to install my printer (HP Officejet pro 8500 a910). When I open the printer setup, it keeps requesting me authorization. The problem is: even if I insert my user and password (the ones I choose on Deepin instalation) the printer software doesn't accept it.
    When I try just to cancel the request, it shows a message telling me that CUPS has a problem. Sorry, but I don't even know what CUPS is. T_T

    I would love to keep using Deepin, but I need my printer to work.

    It seems that Deepin doesn't support add-apt-repository

    1. ryuke@RyuDeepin:~$ sudo add-apt-repository ppa:fingerprint/fingerprint-gui

    The required authentication credential is for root user account.  Open Deepin terminal, run "sudo su -" and type in your password to change to root user. Then set root password by typing "passwd".  

    Now open a web browser and visit "http://localhost:631" to a new printer.
