Performance issues

Hello everyone,

yesterday I found about the Distro Deepin.
After seeing (next to macOS) one of the most beautiful operating systems ever I freaked out and immediatly installed it on my tiny little notebook.
So far so good, I'm stocked about the os and how well done everything is.. except for one thing.. performance..

So I have a Intel Pentium N3700 inside my notebook, which isn't a strong performer, but it never let me down performance wise when it comes to basic os tasks.
Most noteable are the animations in the Starter application and scrolling overall. Also the taskbar (bottom) lags in the animation when I have auto hide enabled and it needs to fade in and out.

Do you have any advice towards those issues? Is it a general deepin problem? Also my System Monitor doesn't look to bad. RAM is around 50-60% workload and the CPU sometimes goes up to 70-80% which is normal and also happened with Windows for example.

Thanks in advance,
andre

Could you send a gif/mp4 to show the issue?   Scrolling stuck?   And for the task bar ,also.

you can try the 2D mode  for GUI.

you can change the GUI mode by pressing  the keyboard shortcuts is   "win + shift + tab".

and tell us how it works out?

Hello everyone!

First of all thanks for your quick response.

I tried the different GUI Mode, but it didn't really change anything. It still felt laggy.

Also I provided you a GIF recording of my issue. In the beginning you can see the scroll lacking behind very badly.
I previously scrolled down and then tried to scroll up, but it actually reacted a lot later than my gesture on the trackpad happened.
After that you can see that the status bar lags when showing up. Hiding is perfectly smooth, just showing up is laggy.

Probably you need to adjust the  touchpad config.

Reference the following url

https://wiki.debian.org/SynapticsTouchpad

the path of config file : /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/50-synaptics.conf

I adjusted the ScrollDelta and now scrolling feels better, but the UI appearently still lags behind.
In the next couple of days I'll switch to a SSD instead of my slow 5400rpm HDD. Maybe that will make a difference.

I don't think that to improve the hardware of a personal computer may be an acceptable solution...
Windows 10 is very fast and it is not laggy also in almost old pcs.
I think that the problem is the Debian base.
I've no problem with Arch based distros like Solus. Solus is not laggy with the same hardware.

Well it's not like I have to buy a new one, I already have one laying around. But still you're right, I just wanted to see if it does make any difference with a ssd in general.
