HI,

My set up is ...
1.Deepin 15.5
2.Wireless HP printer Photosmart 5510

I used printer Settings utillity which can recognize my printer IP address and printer successfully. However, utility always ends up in CUPS error nomatter what settings I tried.

Any suggestion would be grateful.

This does not work for me. Still not detecting my HP Inktank 415 though it is connected to USB. Even after uninstalling UFW.

Is it possible the CUPS backend have been blocked by apparmor?

You can verify it by
  1. #1. clean all kernel message
  2. sudo dmesg -C

  3. #2. Do the print action

  4. #3. Inspect what has happen in kernel
  5. sudo dmesg
Copy the Code

If you see any message contains "audit", it may be the apparmor problem.

Nothing is coming up after typing those in on terminal. So do I disbale this apparmor? Do I need to manually install additional PPD for the printer? Still unable to install it.

Also when I try running HPLIP, I don't have option for deepin so I select Debian but still nothing.

I fixed it!!! Deepin now will be my official OS on my Laptop!

What I did was:
- Downloaded the HPLIP and extracted
- manually added a printer through the Deepin Printer Settings by clicking "+ Add"
- then selected my printer from the network printer (the one with the IP Address and selected "AppSocket/HP JetDirect"
- Clicked "Forward" then on the next window selected Provide PPD Fileand browsed on the HPLIP extracted folder under PPD/HPCups and selected the file named after my printer model with "PD" file extension

And thats it!!! My printer is now installed and working very well!!!
