After the system update and reboot deepin locked when I opened Firefox and Thunderbird. Keyboard locked. I could move the mouse but I couldnt click on anything.
I had to do a hard reset.
After the hard reset I got this message:

  1. `Your system source has been modified, please restore to official source for your normal use'
Copy the Code
First I ignored it, computer worked fine. Then I decided to do a reboot to see if the message would come again, and it did. So I clicked on the restore button, but then the computer froze again. I did a Timeshift restore to previous snapshot before the system update so I could use computer.
What does the message mean? What went wrong with the system update?

I guess it is hard to say what went wrong with this update for me since no one knows the specs, but can someone at least try to explain what the error message means? why is it an error that I have to correct (which I cant since trying to do what it says craches deepin)

I have gone back to earlier snapshots before the system update, and every time I get this error after I do the system update. If I ignore the message I notice that when I watch a movie with deepin movieplayer it (movieplayer) freezes the computer after a while, so I have to do a hard reset. That never happened before the latest update.
I guess I'll have to skip this update and wait for the next one and hope for the best...

Thanks for your reply machine.
When I run that command I get:

"cat: /etc/apt/source.list: No such file or directory"
But I found that I have a "sources.list"
When I add a "s" to the command I get this result:

"deb [by-hash=force] http://packages.deepin.com/deepin/ panda non-free contrib main
deb-src http://packages.deepin.com/deepin/ panda non-free contrib main "

I successfully upgraded to 15.9.1 from fresh install of 15.9. Maybe a bad upgrade for you? Have you tried to update again after you have restored your 15.9 snapshot?

Yes I have restored and updated to 15.9.1 several times, even with different snapshots. I guess it is something in my config that is causing this strange thing with the sources. When I look at the sources list and compare it to the sources.list.save, I guess it is the sources.list before the upgrade, I see that the words are in different places.

This is what the active sources.list says:

"deb [by-hash=force] http://packages.deepin.com/deepin/ panda non-free contrib main
deb-src http://packages.deepin.com/deepin/ panda non-free contrib main"

This is what the sources.list.save says
"deb [by-hash=force] http://packages.deepin.com/deepin panda main contrib non-free
deb-src http://packages.deepin.com/deepin panda main contrib non-free"

As you can see the active sources list ends with "panda non-free contrib main"
And the the sources.list.save ends with                 "panda main contrib non-free"

The words has changed places. One wonders why it would do that? Maybe that is the problem?
Anyways, deepin seems to work regardless (except the glitches I have (once) had with deepin movie player. So I will go with the upgrade and see if something else turns up.

I did a search here but must have spelled horribly :/ sorry about that.
This solved this problem.
I did as suggested in the post you referred to.
I copied the content of sources.list.save to sources.list and the error message didnt appear after reboot.
Thanks a lot for taking time to help machine. Much appreciated!
