    Hola a todos,

    Hi everyone,
    大家好,

    Yesterday I discovered that a new ubuntu with DDE as desktop is becoming a reality.

    I had used deepin OS, then manjaro deepin, and left them . Now I am using ubuntudde, despite is on beta stage till the next major LTS ubuntu release of 20.04 version next April the 23th.

    I hope then the new code for v20 desktop version will be out  https://bbs.deepin.org/user/101846

    百度云离线下载也可以，不过下到度盘上后还要从度盘再下到电脑上

    Why can't UbuntuDDE use the new Deepin Desktop Environment (v20)?
    I mean, it must be ready, because UOS uses it already a few months.
    I don't care when the Deepin Distribution is available or not, but why can't other distributions use the new Deepin Desktop Environment?

    UbuntuDDE is developed by independent individuals, not by the company that makes deepin. Maybe they dont have the full source code yet since deepin v20 isnt released yet? But UbuntuDDE developers promises to keep maintaining UbuntuDDE so I guess they will upgrade to v20 when it is available. But remember they are volunteers and do it on their spare time and get no money for it, so have some patience, or stick to the original.

    New beta iso launched:
    install in uefi laptops fixed, more deepin programs  added.
    And now set a an image as wallpaper, don t mess the background transparency of menu window and power off menu.

    Major BugFixes:

        EFI installation cdrom error fixed
        Terminal added     Deepin Calendar added
        Deepin System Monitor added

    Minor BugFixes

        LibreOffice icon fixed
        Wallpaper tweaked

    I'm using it now as my main OS right now. I became worried about the lack of security updates with Deepin 15.11 so I switched over. It took some fiddling to get it to run - it didn't like EFI installations, and some other features didn't work well but now fixed.  It now seems pretty stable and I will stay with it to see how the Deepin 20 goes. I hope the developers of UDDE will stick with the edition.
